Semarang, jateng.bps.go.id - BPS Jawa Tengah Province is strengthening its commitment to developing Statistics Corners at universities through the 2026 Jawa Tengah Statistics Corner Internalization event. Held online on October 22, 2026, the event served as a platform to align development strategies, improve service quality, and encourage the use of statistics in academic environments.
In his remarks, Head of BPS Jawa Tengah Province Ali Said stated that there are currently nine Statistics Corners at universities across Jawa Tengah. Their presence provides a valuable foundation for expanding the reach of statistical services and strengthening collaboration between BPS and universities to improve statistical literacy.
“Statistics Corners must not merely exist; they must remain active, dynamic, and beneficial,” Ali Said emphasized in his remarks.
Student involvement as Statistics Agents demonstrates significant potential for improving statistical literacy. Statistics Agents in Jawa Tengah have produced 596 infographics and 123 videographics and sent 11 participants to Statistics Data Camp 2026, organized by BPS RI. One Statistics Agent from Tel-U Purwokerto successfully secured a place among the top 10 participants. These achievements encourage BPS to continue supporting students in presenting and disseminating statistical information creatively and in an accessible manner.
The 2026 Jawa Tengah Statistics Corner Internalization event also featured Stefanie Intan Christienova from the Directorate of Dissemination, Empowerment, and Evaluation of Statistical Activities at BPS RI, who shared knowledge and experience on developing Statistics Corners.
Through this event, BPS Jawa Tengah Province hopes to strengthen synergy between the development team and universities, enabling Statistics Corners to grow into productive collaborative spaces, broaden students’ understanding of data, and increase the use of statistics to support academic activities and development initiatives.
