SEMARANG, jateng.bps.go.id - UNDIP Statistics Corner together with BPS Jawa Tengah Province successfully held Statistical Education and Literacy (ELITA) for Outstanding Students Series 2 with the theme "Data Collection Transformation: From Conventional Approaches to the Digital Era" on Saturday, April 26, 2025. This online activity was attended by lecturers and students from UNDIP and other universities. Head of the UNDIP Statistics Department, Prof. Tarno delivered the opening speech at ELITA Series 2. In his remarks, Prof. Tarno emphasized the importance of mastering statistics and computing in the digital era.
Meanwhile, Acting Head of BPS Jawa Tengah Province, Endang Tri Wahyuningsih delivered a keynote speech and officially opened ELITA Series 2. Endang invited students to actively understand and utilize data in supporting national development.
The material session presented Meryanti Sri Wulandari, Young Expert Statistician of BPS Jawa Tengah Province who discussed the transformation of BPS data collection methods from paper-based to the CAPI digital method. Also present as a resource person was Fitri Andri Astuti, a Young Expert Computer Technician at BPS Karanganyar Regency who introduced the basics of web scraping and the use of machine learning in research.
Through this activity, students are expected to be able to improve statistical literacy while preparing themselves to face the challenges of the digital era.
