Data Collaboration for Food Security in Jawa Tengah

Semarang, jateng.bps.go.id - BPS Jawa Tengah Province welcomed a delegation from Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) during a coordination meeting on the provision of data related to the production, consumption, and distribution patterns of eggs and chicken meat in Jawa Tengah. The meeting was held on Wednesday, 1 July 2026, in the third-floor meeting room of BPS Jawa Tengah Province.

The meeting was part of a collaborative effort between BPS, academics, and other stakeholders to support studies on strategies for strengthening the supply resilience of eggs and chicken meat in response to the increasing demand generated by the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program.

During the discussion, BPS Jawa Tengah Province presented various data sources and methodologies used in compiling the Regional Food Balance Sheet, including the estimation of food availability and demand, the utilization of data from the National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas), and the results of an in-depth study on food requirements for Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG).

Through this collaboration, it is expected that higher-quality statistical data will be produced and serve as a solid foundation for evidence-based policymaking, particularly in maintaining food security and price stability in Jawa Tengah.
