Semarang, jateng.bps.go.id - Food self-sufficiency has become a national priority program as it is directly linked to food security, a strategic issue currently faced by the government. The availability of high-quality data on harvested area and food crop production—particularly rice and secondary crops—has therefore become a strategic necessity. In this context, the BPS Jawa Tengah Province (Badan Pusat Statistik Provinsi Jawa Tengah) organized the Instructor Training for the KSA and Crop-Cutting (Ubinan) Surveys 2026, which was conducted online on January 8–9, 2026.
All officers in charge of Food Crop Statistical Survey activities from regencies/municipalities across Jawa Tengah participated in the training and reviewed updates to field implementation materials for the Ubinan Survey. These updates included a change in the listing mode from PAPI to CAPI using the FASIH application, as well as additional detailed questions in the questionnaire.
In her opening remarks, the Head of the Industry and Agriculture Statistics Team of BPS Jawa Tengah Province, Sri Diastuti, emphasized that the Ubinan Survey and the KSA play a crucial role in supporting government programs. This is in line with the achievement of national food self-sufficiency announced by the President during the National Harvest event on Wednesday, January 7, in Karawang, West Java. She also urged participants to promptly report any obstacles or issues encountered during data collection to leadership so that solutions can be addressed swiftly.
High-quality food crop statistical data are essential in strengthening national sovereignty through the achievement of national food self-sufficiency.
