Semarang, jateng.bps.go.id - The 2026 Rice Conversion Survey (SKGB) Enumerator Training for Jawa Tengah Province was officially conducted as part of efforts to strengthen the quality of food statistics data. The activity involved employees and statistical partners of BPS from regencies/municipalities across Jawa Tengah, as well as representatives from related Regional Government Agencies (OPD). Through this activity, a total of 373 participants received briefings on concepts, methodologies, and field implementation techniques as guidelines for carrying out the 2026 SKGB.
The training was conducted face-to-face over two effective days, from May 21 to May 22, 2026. Officially opened by the Head of General Affairs of BPS Jawa Tengah Province, Joko Suwarjo, the training is expected to sharpen participants’ understanding so they will have strong readiness, capacity, and technical comprehension in conducting field data collection for the Rice Conversion Survey.
The Rice Conversion Survey aims to produce conversion rates from Harvested Dry Grain (GKP) to Milled Dry Grain (GKG), as well as conversion rates from GKG to rice. These conversion figures are used to estimate rice production based on paddy production data. The calculation results will serve as the basis for formulating strategic government policies in the food sector, including food security, rice distribution, and price stabilization. Therefore, this data collection activity plays a fundamental role in providing accurate and high-quality food crop statistics in Indonesia.
