SEMARANG, jateng.bps.go.id – Efforts to safeguard the data quality of the 2026 Economic Census (SE2026) continue to be strengthened from the preparation stage. Statistics Indonesia (BPS) of the Republic of Indonesia conducted an on-site review of the Pre-Listing Ground Check for SE2026 in Central Semarang Subdistrict, Semarang City, on Sunday, 25 January 2026. The activity was led by the Deputy for Methodology and Statistical Information (MIS), Pudji Ismartini.

The field review focused on direct observation of census work areas, including the characteristics of the business environment and current on-the-ground conditions. This ground check stage plays a crucial role as the foundation for ensuring accurate coverage before the finalization of the SE2026 pre-listing.

On this occasion, the MIS Deputy and the team also held technical discussions with officials from BPS Semarang City and BPS Jawa Tengah Province regarding the application of census methodologies in urban areas with high mobility and intense economic activity. Input from field observations serves as evaluation material to refine the implementation of subsequent stages.

Through this activity, BPS reaffirmed its commitment to overseeing the quality of SE2026 data from the very beginning. The data produced by the census are expected to provide a comprehensive picture of economic structure and dynamics, serving as a strong evidence base for data-driven economic development policies, particularly for Semarang City and Jawa Tengah Province.
