BPS Jawa Tengah and BRIN Strengthen Data-Driven Policy for Rice Governance

Semarang, jateng.bps.go.id - BPS Jawa Tengah Province welcomed a research team from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) for an interview as part of the Data-Driven Policy for Rice Commodity Governance research on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

The research focuses on examining rice commodity governance from upstream to downstream, covering planning, production, harvesting, logistics, distribution, and trade. It also identifies data needs, data sources, information systems, and the use of data in supporting evidence-based policymaking.

During the discussion, BPS Jawa Tengah Province presented a range of statistical information on rice production, distribution, prices, and the Regional Food Balance Sheet. These data provide a comprehensive overview of the current conditions and dynamics of the rice commodity in Jawa Tengah.

The collaboration between BPS and BRIN is expected to strengthen the use of data in understanding the dynamics of rice governance, including price movements along the distribution chain, inter-agency data sharing mechanisms, the development of an Early Warning System (EWS), and data-driven policy recommendations.

Through the synergy between official statistics and research, BPS Jawa Tengah Province remains committed to supporting more targeted, responsive, and evidence-based food policies to strengthen food security and improve public welfare.
