Semarang, jateng.bps.go.id - BPS Jawa Tengah Province organized the 2026 Sectoral Statistics Development Series 3 under the theme "Data Quality" through Zoom on Thursday, June 25, 2026. The online event was attended by representatives of Regional Government Organizations (OPDs) of the Jawa Tengah Provincial Government as producers of sectoral statistical data. The program aimed to strengthen the implementation of high-quality, integrated statistics that support evidence-based policymaking.
The event was officially opened by the Head of BPS Jawa Tengah Province, Ali Said. In his opening remarks, Ali Said emphasized that high-quality statistical data serve as the foundation for every stage of development, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. He stated that well-managed sectoral statistics are essential for establishing a reliable, effective, and efficient National Statistical System capable of producing accurate and evidence-based public policies.
Ali Said also highlighted several challenges in managing sectoral statistics, including inconsistent metadata standards, varying data quality across government agencies, limited statistical human resources, insufficient data integration and interoperability, and the underutilization of data quality evaluation results. According to him, these challenges should be addressed by strengthening data governance, enhancing staff capacity, ensuring data quality through regular validation and evaluation, and leveraging information technology to improve data interoperability and dissemination.
The third series of the Sectoral Statistics Development program featured presentations from Indah Purnamasari, Dian Eka Putri, and Rina Lusiana Handayanti. The sessions were moderated by Dina Nur Rahmawati and concluded with an interactive discussion and question-and-answer session involving all participants.
Through this program, BPS Jawa Tengah Province expects all OPDs as producers of sectoral statistical data to further recognize the importance of producing data that are relevant, accurate, timely, accessible, comparable, and coherent. The initiative also forms part of BPS's ongoing efforts to improve the quality of sectoral statistics through the Sectoral Statistics Implementation Evaluation (EPSS), ensuring that statistical data can be utilized optimally to support regional development while strengthening the provision of high-quality government statistics.
