Welcoming the month of June, Central Java Province BPS again released the Official Statistical News (BRS) on Monday, June 3 2024. The indicators released include inflation, farmer exchange rate (NTP), tourism statistics, exports and imports, and transportation statistics.
Approaching Eid al-Adha, Central Java's deflation in May 2024 will reach 0.22% (m-to-m) or 2.66% (y-on-y). The biggest contributor to deflation in April 2024 was rice which contributed -0.13%, followed by purebred chicken meat with a deflation contribution of -0.07%.
This release activity is quite different compared to previous BRS releases. Attended by the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Central Java Province, Sumarno, this BRS release was followed by assistance with inflation control for nine inflation calculating regions in Central Java, namely Cilacap Regency, Banyumas Regency, Wonosobo Regency, Wonogiri Regency, Rembang Regency, Kudus Regency, Kota Surakarta, Semarang City and Tegal City. With this assistance, it is hoped that regional governments can play a greater role in controlling inflation in their respective regions.
Next, a socialization of the 2024 Agricultural Economic Survey (SEP) will be held, data collection will be carried out in June 2024. This data collection aims to obtain information regarding the characteristics, income and expenditure as well as investment and marketing of agricultural businesses and to measure the level of welfare of farmers in Indonesia.
