Abstract
The publication of the Aging Population Profile aims to describe the socio-demographic profile of the elderly in Jawa Tengah Province in 2024. The main statistical data used as a reference includes the results of Susenas and Sakernas as well as other supporting data (Regency/Municipality Population Projection of Jawa Tengah Province 2020-2035) The percentage of the elderly population to the total population in Jawa Tengah Province continues to increase, namely 13.50 percent in 2023 to 13.94 percent in 2024. The role of the elderly in the household is actually still large, this can be seen from the elderly who act as breadwinners (59.04 percent working), and as heads of households (50.14 percent). The still high percentage of elderly working shows that the elderly are not merely a burden but are still able to productively finance their household life. However, on the other hand it also indicates that the level of welfare of the elderly is still low, so that the elderly still have to work to finance their own lives and their families. The percentage of employed elderly men is significantly higher than that of elderly women, at 58.01 percent compared to 41.89 percent. The agricultural sector remains the sector that absorbs the largest share of the elderly workforce, accounting for 56.50 percent. Meanwhile, the average monthly income of employed elderly people is 1.454 million rupiah, necessitating attention to the economic well-being of the elderly.
