Abstract
Gender Inequality Index Jawa Tengah in 2024 was 0.308, down 0.028 points compared to 2023 which was 0.336.
The decline in the Gender Inequality Index in Jawa Tengah was mainly influenced by improvements in the reproductive health dimension and the labor market dimension.
The improvement in the reproductive health dimension was influenced by an improvement in the indicator of the proportion of women aged 15–49 years who gave birth alive not in health facilities (MTF). The indicator decreased from 2.7 percent in 2023 to 1.8 percent in 2024.
The improvement in the labor dimension was influenced by an improvement in the labor force participation rate for women. The participation rate of the female labor force increased from 58.92 percent in 2023 to 61.82 percent in 2024. This condition causes an increasingly small inequality between men and women.
