Pekalongan, jateng.bps.go.id — From June 28 to 30, 2026, the Head of BPS of Jawa Tengah Province, Dr. Ali Said, M.A., conducted supervision visits for the implementation of the 2026 Economic Census (SE2026) in Pekalongan Municipality and Pekalongan Regency. The visits aimed to ensure that data collection activities were carried out in accordance with established standards while also providing guidance and motivation to BPS personnel and field officers.
In Pekalongan Municipality, the activities began with an inspection of office facilities and infrastructure, followed by a coaching session for all employees of BPS Pekalongan Municipality. Subsequently, the Head of BPS of Jawa Tengah Province delivered a briefing to 251 SE2026 field officers from across the municipality at Parkside Mandarin Hotel. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of adhering to standard operating procedures, maintaining integrity, and applying a persuasive approach to help respondents understand the objectives and benefits of the 2026 Economic Census.
Field supervision was also conducted directly in Kalibaros Village, East Pekalongan District. Accompanied by the SE2026 Team of BPS of Jawa Tengah Province, Dr. Ali Said observed interviews conducted by field officers with business operators. Following the observation, he provided evaluations, recommendations, and encouragement aimed at improving the quality of data collection.
The supervision activities continued in Pekalongan Regency through coaching sessions for BPS employees and SE2026 field officers. On this occasion, Ali Said highlighted that SE2026 is a large-scale operation spanning approximately two and a half months and involving a significant number of statistical partners. Therefore, effective communication, continuous guidance, and harmonious relationships with partners are essential to maintaining motivation and minimizing the risk of officer turnover during the census period.
He further emphasized that the success of SE2026 in Jawa Tengah depends on the contributions of all regencies and municipalities, including Pekalongan Regency, in continuously improving data collection achievements. Through these supervision activities, the implementation of SE2026 in both Pekalongan Municipality and Pekalongan Regency is expected to become more effective, produce high-quality economic data, and strengthen collaboration among BPS, field officers, statistical partners, and the public in ensuring the success of the 2026 Economic Census.
