National Kick-Off for the Evaluation of the 2025 Indonesia Democracy Index (IDI) Achievement

Semarang, jateng.bps.go.id — The Deputy Chief Statistician of Badan Pusat Statistik, Dr. Sonny Harry Budiutomo Harmadi, S.E., M.E., attended the National Kick-Off for the Evaluation of the 2025 Indonesia Democracy Index (IDI) Achievement, held at Hotel Horison Ultima Sentraland Semarang on Thursday, May 21, 2026. The event marked an important milestone in strengthening inter-agency collaboration in the provision of high-quality democracy data and indicators to support inclusive and sustainable national development.

In his remarks, the Deputy Chief Statistician emphasized that measuring democracy cannot be carried out in isolation. Instead, it requires cross-sector collaboration, strong data support, and the active involvement of various stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and objective representation of democratic conditions.

The event was also attended by the Head of BPS of Jawa Tengah Province, the Head of the Human Resources Bureau of BPS RI, and the Acting Head of BPS of D.I. Yogyakarta Province. The presence of officials from both the central and regional BPS offices reflected a shared commitment to strengthening coordination in support of credible and trustworthy statistics.

In addition to evaluating the achievements of the 2025 Indonesia Democracy Index, the event served as a strategic forum for discussions on strengthening democracy, improving governance, and enhancing the use of statistical data to support more effective and evidence-based public policymaking.
