February 23, 2026 | BPS Activities
Semarang Regency, jateng.bps.go.id — Moh. Edy Mahmud, Deputy for Statistical Accounts and Analysis of BPS RI, comprehensively outlined the readiness and implementation strategy for the 2026 Economic Census (SE2026) during a Recess Working Visit by Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) in Semarang Regency on Monday, February 23, 2026. The event was also attended by the Head of BPS Jawa Tengah Province, Ali Said, as a form of support and supervision at the provincial level.
During his presentation, the Deputy emphasized that SE2026 is a highly strategic national statistical agenda designed to provide a complete picture of the structure and characteristics of businesses in Indonesia, excluding the agricultural sector. The resulting data will serve not only as a current snapshot of the business world but also as a vital foundation for policy formulation, economic development planning, and program evaluation at both central and regional levels.
Furthermore, the Deputy stressed the importance of active support and involvement from local governments to ensure the census's success. Strengthening coordination, massive socialization to business actors, and cross-sector collaboration are the primary keys to success.
With the support of local governments, SE2026 is expected to produce high-quality data that serves as a solid basis for driving inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
