SEMARANG, jateng.bps.go.id - The Jawa Tengah Statistics (BPS) of Jawa Tengah Province followed up on the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Jawa Tengah Provincial Government through a joint audience with the Regional Secretary. The Acting Head of BPS Jawa Tengah Province, Endang Tri Wahyuningsih, and her staff were received directly by the Regional Secretary of Jawa Tengah Province, Sumarno, during the audience held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, in the Regional Secretary's Meeting Room, Jawa Tengah Governor's Office Complex.

The audience was to coordinate and follow up on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Jawa Tengah Provincial Government and the Jawa Tengah Statistics Agency on the Provision, Utilization, and Development of Statistical Data and Information for Regional Development, which was signed on July 4, 2025.

Endang emphasized the importance of implementing the agreed-upon MoU with concrete steps to produce high-quality, meaningful, and impactful statistics. Providing quality data is essential as a basis for interventions to improve the Jawa Tengah economy, supported by investment and leading sectors. Endang also explained the various obstacles and challenges in data collection in the field, particularly for large and medium-sized industries. She hopes the Jawa Tengah Provincial Government can help address these issues by leveraging the role of regional government agencies (OPDs) as the parties responsible and authorized to oversee business actors.

Meanwhile, in his remarks, Sumarno welcomed the efforts undertaken by the Jawa Tengah BPS. "What must be done immediately is a joint discussion to formulate steps that can be taken to achieve more optimal results. We need to map and identify BPS data needs from various sectors, including what has been done, what shortcomings there are, where it is located, and under whose responsibility (in this case, the Jawa Tengah Provincial OPD). This will make it easier to determine the appropriate methods and formulations to meet the expected quality," Sumarno explained.

The discussion also included the Head of the Jawa Tengah Provincial DPMPTSP (Services for Private Sector Services), the Head of the Jawa Tengah Provincial Bappeda (Regional Development Planning Agency), the Secretary of the Jawa Tengah Provincial Industry and Trade Office, the Head of the Jawa Tengah Provincial Government and Cooperation Bureau, and representatives from the Jawa Tengah Provincial Communication and Digital Office.
