SEMARANG, jateng.bps.go.id - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Jawa Tengah Province again held an Information Technology Innovation Sharing (SHINTA V.2.0) activity, Friday (25/4), online via Zoom Meeting. This activity raised an interesting theme: Using WhatsApp to Support BPS Services.
The event was officially opened by the Acting Head of BPS of Jawa Tengah Province, Endang Tri Wahyuningsih. In her remarks, Endang emphasized the importance of utilizing popular technology such as WhatsApp to bring services closer to the community. Endang also appreciated the development of WhatsApp-based Chatbots that are being implemented at BPS of Jawa Tengah Province to increase the effectiveness of public services.
"Technology should not only facilitate internal work, but also be able to provide faster, more precise, and more responsive services to the community," said Endang in her presentation.
SHINTA V.2.0 presented three speakers from BPS districts in Jawa Tengah who have innovated the use of WhatsApp as a service medium. They are Lara Ayu Cahyaningtyas from BPS Klaten Regency, Puspa Putrining Winri from BPS Sukoharjo Regency, and Madyastuti Herni Perwitosari from BPS Kendal Regency.
The three speakers shared good practices and challenges in developing a WhatsApp-based service system, starting from integration with internal information systems to public acceptance of digital services.
The SHINTA activity itself is a routine forum initiated by BPS Jawa Tengah Province as a forum for sharing innovative practices in the field of information technology between work units. With a collaborative spirit, it is hoped that this activity can encourage the acceleration of digital transformation in the BPS environment in a sustainable manner.
