SEMARANG, jateng.bps.go.id - Head of BPS Jawa Tengah Province, Endang Tri Wahyuningsih received an audience from members of the KPPI Internal Sector Investigation Committee of the Ministry of Trade, Alvin Kristian, and his staff on Monday, December 30 2024, in the Meeting Room on the 2nd floor of BPS Jawa Tengah Province.

KPPI coordinates with BPS Jawa Tengah Province in relation to efforts to recover or prevent serious losses or threats of serious losses, through the Safeguards instrument. In this meeting, KPPI attempted to obtain information regarding import data and products experiencing a surge in imports

Alvin said that with the onslaught of imported goods from abroad, we must be careful so as not to be missed. Therefore, there needs to be an early warning about any goods that have the potential to experience a surge in imports

Responding to this explanation, Endang said that the high import of consumer goods needed to be looked at more deeply to identify the types of goods that people really need.

Meanwhile, Endang said that as the Indonesian Trade Security Committee, the potential for imported goods must be described in more detail so that the need for these goods can be met domestically.
