Human Development Index of Jawa Tengah Province 2025

        The Human Development Index (HDI) is an indicator of achievements in improving the quality of life of the population, constructed based on three basic dimensions: a long and healthy life, knowledge, and a decent standard of living. The dimension of a long and healthy life is represented by the life expectancy at birth indicator. The knowledge dimension is represented by the expected years of schooling and mean years of schooling indicators, while the dimension of a decent standard of living is represented by adjusted per capita expenditure in PPP (Purchasing Power Parity).        HDI figures are presented periodically every year at the national, provincial, and regency/municipality levels. The periodic presentation of HDI by region enables each area to understand the profile of human development in its region, including achievements, growth rates, relative positions, and disparities across regions.         The growth of HDI in Jawa Tengah Province in 2025 shows continued improvement. With this achievement, Jawa Tengah is classified under the “high” human development category. Nevertheless, these accomplishments and progress still leave significant challenges, particularly those related to disparities in human development outcomes among individuals and across regions.
