Analysis of Current Issues in Jawa Tengah Province 2025

Agriculture plays a vital role in Central Java’s economy, serving as both a key food provider and a primary livelihood source for millions of farmers. However, the sector continues to face challenges such as limited land, climate change, price fluctuations, and rising production costs, all of which affect farmers’ welfare. This publication presents an updated overview of agricultural enterprises, farmer household characteristics, income levels, and welfare conditions in Central Java. The analysis is based on official data sources, including the 2023 Agricultural Census, the 2024 Agricultural Economic Survey, and related surveys. This publication is expected to serve as a valuable reference for improving farmer welfare and strengthening regional food security.
