Abstract

  • In September 2023, combined inflation for six cities in Central Java will be 0.41 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 115.59. Of the six CPI cities in Central Java, all cities experienced inflation.
  • The main cause of inflation in September 2023 is the increase in commodity prices for rice, gasoline, air transportation, cell phone credit costs and granulated sugar. The main barrier to inflation is the decline in commodity prices for pure chicken eggs, red chilies, shallots and meat purebred chicken, and cayenne pepper.
  • The inflation rate for the calendar year September 2023 is 1.99 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (September 2023 to September 2022) is 2.49 percent.
