Development of the Combined Consumer Price Index for Six Cities in Central Java April 2023

Abstract

In April 2023, a combined six cities in Central Java experienced an inflation of 0.28 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 114.57. Of the six CPI cities in Central Java, all cities experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in the Kudus City of 0.34 percent with a CPI of 114.50.
  • The main cause of April 2023 inflation is the increase in prices for purebred chicken meat, inter-city transportation, filter clove cigarettes, rice and cars. The main restraint to inflation was the decline in the prices of air transportation, bird's eye chilies, red chilies, purebred chicken eggs and cell phones.
  • The April 2023 calendar year inflation rate is 1.09 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (April 2023 against April 2022) is 4.40 percent.
