Educating the public on wise consumption patterns to control inflation

SEMARANG, jateng.bps.go.id - Inflation is one of the important indicators that reflects the economic stability of a region. The inflation rate in Jawa Tengah is greatly influenced by the dynamics of food commodity prices, energy, as well as distribution and production factors. Therefore, controlling inflation requires synergy between various stakeholders, both from the government, private sectors, and Regionally-Owned Enterprises (BUMD).

As an effort to find out the strategy, contribution, challenges faced, and opportunities for collaboration between BUMD Jawa Tengah in controlling inflation in Jawa Tengah, PT. Jateng Agro Berdikari (Perseroda) held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the theme "The Role of BUMD in Controlling Inflation in Jawa Tengah" which was held at the Front One HK Hotel Building, Semarang City on April 17, 2025.

On this occasion, the Acting Head of the Jawa Tengah BPS Endang Tri Wahyuningsih explained the Price Stability and Inflation Control of Jawa Tengah. Endang provided several recommendations for inflation control interventions by involving BUMD, including the need for education on wise consumption patterns for the community by encouraging the development of local processed products and food diversification.

Also present were other speakers, namely the Chairperson of the Special Committee for LKPJ TA 2024 of the Jawa Tengah DPRD, Hj. Nur Sa'adah S.Pd.I, MH and Prof. Dr. Ir. Bambang W.H.E.P., M.S., M.Agr., IPU, Dean of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture, Diponegoro University, with moderator Huntal Hutapea, SAP, M.Si, Med academics from Diponegoro University
