Economy of the First Quarter of 2019 Central Java Grows 5.14 Percent

The role of the manufacturing industry in Central Java has declined, whereas development planning has increased. There is a change in the economy of Central Java starting to turn to services.

Central Java Statistics Agency (BPS), has held a Press Conference on Central Java economy in the first quarter of 2019, Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) for the first quarter of 2019 and employment results of the National Labor Survey (Sakernas) in February 2019 at the Central Java BPS Hall on Monday (5/5/2019). The economy of Central Java based on the magnitude of the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) based on prices prevailing in the first quarter of 2019 reached Rp 328,002.76 billion and at the base of constant prices in 2010 reached Rp 240,347.87 billion.

The economy of Central Java in the first quarter of 2019 grew 5.14 percent (y-on-y). From the production side, growth was supported by all the highest growth business sectors, the Provision of Funds and Food and Drink which grew by 12.55 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth was achieved by the LNPRT Consumption Expenditure Component, which grew by 12.41 percent
